Well they look nice enough but I’m not sure how practical they’d be for ‘real life’ living in.  These are like show homes, too spotlessly clean, not a thing out of place.  It’s hard to imagine them as genuine living spaces.

    • Nichole September 29, 2011 - 18:50 Reply

No one’s going to take a picture of a dirty home. If someone asked you take a picture worthy of being shown on an interior design website, would you leave the dishes out?

      • Icekween88 October 9, 2011 - 08:25 Reply

These photo’s are usually done immediately after the redesign, they haven’t had a chance to be lived in yet.  If a older space is being photographed for a magazine professional cleaners and then decorators come in to “stage” the rooms.  Fresh flowers,  proper furniture spacing (even some loaned pieces) are put in place for the pictures.  Not unlike most of us would “pretty up” for a scheduled family photo.  The photo may not show the Ultimate everyday truth,  but it’s as honest a reality as you would feel comfortable portraying to the public.   Anyway…Amazing designs, love the staircases!

Another way to decorate your home on a budget is to be sure to put lighting to very good use. It is said by the experts of home improvement that lighting be utilized to both expose flaws, as well as cover them up. Hence, try to be adept in making the best use of lighting to really accentuate the positive attributes of your home.

This is a stand-up vacuum cleaner that has as much suction and power as one that is twice its size, and it also has the added advantage of being a canister vacuum cleaner, too. So, if you are used to cleaning your stairs or underneath your bed or furniture with a canister vacuum, then you will basically get two vacuum cleaners in one with this model. The canister essentially lifts away and it is light enough for you to hold in your hand while you are cleaning.

Most people have a favorite color or style, but more of the same can get wearying after awhile. Refreshing a stale design or completely redoing an interior can be accomplished with a little inspiration. Expand your exposure to various styles and colors by looking at everyday objects from a new angle to find unexpected inspiration.

Classically, the main areas of design were only painting, sculpture and architecture, which were understood as the major arts. The design of clothing, furniture and other common artifacts were left mostly to tradition or artisans specializing in hand making them.
